A Day with Olivia Rodrigo

If you were friends with the global pop sensation, here's what a day with her might be like!

It's the afternoon in Southern California and you've just come back from your morning walk. The day is fresh, the sun is out and the weather is a solid 70 degrees. You're in a sociable mood and you decide to reach out to one of your friends. Who will you text? Since you're an up-and-coming star in Los Angeles, there's a variety of famous people for you to choose from and you're having a hard time choosing one to meet up with.

What's that? One of those celebrity friends of yours just texted you! You release a grateful sigh of relief since you now don't have to choose who to text, and look closer at that little grey box with the text message at the top of your iphone screen. It's no one other than THE Billboard Woman of The Year, Olivia Rodrigo! "Today has been crazzzzy," the text reads, "let's drive down pch and scream our lungs out to some 2000s songs. you in?"

Going on a midday drive sounds perfect to you. You text back, "yes, count me in 100%! i'll add some songs to our shared playlist rn. pick me up in ten?" Olivia agrees to come by your apartment and before you know it, she's at your doorbell with a bag of Sour Patch Kids in one hand, and some designer sunglasses in the other.

"These are for you," she says in a sweet tone, holding out the candy,"and put these on right now!" she excitedly says as she fixes your hair and puts the sunglasses on your face.

Sunglasses resting on your nose and Sour Patch Kids in hand, you grab a tote bag and quickly fill it with your Instax Camera, some fujifilm, your iphone and wallet, lock-up your place and get in Olivia's car––and yes, it's the one from the "Deja Vu" music video––and the moment's every bit as iconic as you thought it would be.

"Here's the AUX," Olivia says as she turns on her indoor car lights and starts the car, "play some songs that will remind us we're alive!"

Her enthusiasm is infectious and you can't help but be excited to show off your music taste. Those songs you added to your shared playlist before you left the apartment are waiting to be streamed.

"I'll queue up some songs I know we both love," you say, "let's literally just drive and see where the songs take us!"

"I'm totally here for that!" she responds, "Alright then, fasten your seatbelt, we're in for a ride you won't forget."

The drive begins and the first song plays. Olivia's eyes light up and it's all the approval you need––you're rocking this DJ thing! The drive continues like that, with the occasional yelling-singing, finishing the lyrics and even some laughing-crying here and there. You two are in your own little world and it's really, really, awesome.

After stopping at Whole Foods for to-go meals, Lemonade for iced drinks and Barnes and Noble for some books, you two end up at a surfer-lined beach somewhere along PCH. As you take in the sights, Olivia pulls into the parking lot, parks the car, and you get out to pay for the parking spot. Carefully placing the ticket under the car's windshield wipers, Olivia opens her car door and comes to stand beside you. Together, you look toward the ocean view in front of you.

"This is what it's all about," Olivia says, "the water, the sky, the birds," she smiles, "it doesn't get more beautiful than this."

"Absolutely," you say, "thanks again for inviting me to spend the some time with you today."

She pats your shoulder as a good friend does, and goes to grab a blanket, the food bag and your cold lemonades out of the car. You follow her and pull out the books, your polaroid camera and tote bag. Before your eyes, the sky starts to change colors and you notice it must be around 4:30 p.m. in the late afternoon. That car ride seemed like an hour and a half, but it must've been more like four or so hours.

"Let's eat our food and take pictures as the sunsets!" she says, "I've always wanted to take pictures by the water when the sky is at its happiest."

Aligning with Olivia's vision, you enthusiastically nod your head her way, and start walking toward the water. Following in step, you both carry your things across the parking lot, over the sandy terrain and to the waterline. Sunglasses now on your head, you lay down your supplies and prepare a picnic with Olivia.

"Today was unexpected and fun," you say, "I hope we can do this again when you're free, or even for like 30 minutes between your Disney shoots, rehearsals, or photoshoots," you kindly offer.

"I would like that a lot," she replies, "let's definitely do that, and next time, I'll show you a sneak peak of my new music."

"I can't wait," you say.
